While growing-up in a small town on the Southeastern plains of Colorado, photographer Brandon Harper created Charcoal sketches of cars, cities, landscapes, and people as well as the occasional mixed media piece of art. He also owned several film and digital cameras over the years, including making his own pinhole camera and developing his own film. Many rolls of film were used over the years just photographing random things, which later transitioned to digital cameras in the late 90’s.
After many years of trying to be creative with various consumer level cameras, Brandon bought his first SLR based camera in the mid-2000’s and hasn’t looked back! He has continually shot thousands of photos each year since then, taken many classes, and also donated his talents to events such as the Capitol Hill People’s Fair and TedxBoulder. Brandon also spends many hours looking at others work, researching new techniques & technologies, and talking with other photographers all in the hopes of getting better at his craft and sharing his vision with others.
